Frequently asked questions
- How do I report a bug or request a feature?
- Open an issue on GitHub, or email contact@nandan.fyi. Since Solace is open source, GitHub issues are the fastest way to get a fix considered.
- Why does a product show no score?
- Some barcodes aren’t yet in Open Food Facts, or the cached data is missing key nutrition fields. Missing values are shown as unavailable rather than guessed.
- How accurate is photo-based logging?
- Expect roughly ±15–30% error for a single item, and more for composed dishes — it’s a published limitation of AI photo estimation, not a bug. Every estimate is an editable draft you confirm before saving, and portion amounts can always be corrected by hand.
- Why does Solace ask for a Health permission?
- Only if you opt in, to write the calories and macros you log to Apple Health. It’s write-only — Solace never reads your existing Health data.
- I set up a cloud AI provider and it’s not working.
- Double-check the endpoint URL, model string, and API key in Settings. An invalid or deprecated model string surfaces a clear in-app error rather than failing silently — if you see something else, please report it.
- Does my data sync across my devices?
- Yes, automatically, via CloudKit under your own iCloud account — as long as you’re signed into the same iCloud account and it isn’t disabled for the app in iOS Settings.
- How do I delete my data?
- Delete the app to remove all local data. Since sync uses your own iCloud account, you can also manage or delete Solace’s iCloud data from Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on your device.
